SPEAKERS

Speakers can be hooked up in different configurations.  Series, parallel and series-parallel are some of the configuration types. If the speakers are hooked up in the improper manner, or the speakers are faulty, you most likely will experience damage to your receive or amplifier.

Pets, nails or improper routing can sometimes damage wires. Excessive stripping of the wires can cause bare wires to touch (short) which will damage your receiver or amplifier.  Refer to your owner’s manual for proper hook-up and safety precautions.

Do not hook up your speakers with power applied to your receiver or amplifier. Damage may result if power is not removed.

Most home systems require that speakers have 8 ohms impedance, however there are some home systems that can use 4 ohm speakers. The use of a 4 ohm speaker on a system that requires a minimum of 8 ohms can cause the receiver or amplifier to run hot, and may cause failure of unit.

If upon hook-up you have problems with volume levels or have a protection warning light on, please stop!  Double check your connections.  If problem persists, take your unit in for repair.
