Pricing

The Audio Works gives a free VERBAL estimate at the time the unit is brought in for repair. The total cost of the repair depends, on the complexity, the time, and the cost of parts. While every attempt is made to keep The Audio Works prices competitive, and to pass those savings along to you, the customer, this will not always be feasible. The cost of parts and labor may exceed the worth of the unit making that unit not cost effective to repair.

Please understand that before an “EXACT” price for a repair can be given to you, that essentially the unit has to be repaired and made operational. That is why most shops will give estimates in a price range, example $45-$65, and prefer that they have authorization for the repair before they start.

The table below is a GENERAL guideline of the prices charged by the Audio Works.

Again, the above table is only a guideline. I would say that 95 percent of all repairs would fall into the prices given in the above table. However, there will always be exceptions. Examples: (1) The repair may require a high priced part that normally would not be required. (2) You, the customer, or a family member, may have tried to repair the unit yourself causing damage that would not normally occur, that would require additional parts or labor.

In all cases, if it looks like the cost of the repair will exceed the bid that you were given or falls outside the “normal” price range for a repair, actions will be coordinated with you, the customer, before any further work is performed. A bench fee will apply. See: Bench Fee.

BENCH FEE

A minimum bench fee of $20 is charged for troubleshooting an item. It may include, but is not limited to the following actions:

The item is disassembled.
The Item is visually inspected for damage.
Continuity checks are made of components.
Voltage measurements are made.
Unit is checked for proper mechanical and electrical functions.
Often, cleaning and small repairs are required before troubleshooting of the main problem can be performed.
Technical data and manuals may have to be purchased and consulted.
Calls to a manufactures technical support section may be required.
Calls to suppliers for cost and availability of parts, may be required.

The price of the bench fee is included in the total price of a repair. If it is determined that the unit is not cost effective to repair, can not be repaired, or you the customer elects not to have the unit repaired, the minimum bench fee will apply.

The Bench fee for "Lightning" damage is $25.

The Bench fee for a "Moving Damage Estimate" is $25.

The Bench fee for LCD monitors or TV's is $35.

The Bench fee for Computer Repair is $35.

PAYMENT

The Audio Works does not bill, or accept accounts. All monies are due when items are picked up, and an invoice is presented. Payment must be in the form of cash or a check. I do have a Pay Pal account and will accept Pay Pal payments.

For Internet transactions I will send a request for money by Pay Pal. Once Pay Pal indicates that it has received the money the item will be shipped and a UPS tracking number will be sent by e-mail.
