VCR HOOK-UP

1.    The hook up above shows a cable box in the hook up.  If you do not have a cable box, the cable from the wall goes straight into the antenna in on the VCR.

2.    Many TV’s and VCR’s today require that they be “Tuned” before proper operation.  Please check you manual.  Often you will need to go into the “on screen menu” and select “auto program.”  The VCR will then step through each channel to see if it is there.  If it is, it will memorize the channel.

3.    Do not plug the VCR power cord into the cable box.  Plug the power cord into the wall or into a power strip.  VCR power supplies are very "fickle" and do not like being turned on and off all the time. Newer VCR's prefer to be in a "standby" mode with power applied all the time. If you have the VCR plugged into a Cable Box, when you turn that box off, it will cut all power to the VCR.  This will cause an early failure to the power supply in your VCR. The same thing goes for most of today's newer TV's and TVCR's, plug them into the wall or power strip.

4.   Keep in mind that many of the newer VCRs and TV's have RCA Jacks. By using the "VIDEO INPUT" selection on your TV and the use of a RCA cable, you can by-pass the use of a A/B switch and improve your overall video.
